Whole Congregation Worship Services
We invite children and youth to "Zoom to Worship" with their families every Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. There will generally be one Sunday each month that is specifically designed to be multigenerational and interactive. On those Sundays, Religious Exploration classes will not take place in the afternoon.
Primary Group (Prek-K/1st Grade)
Parents of this group will be sent an activity to do each week from the Unitarian Universalist Association "Tapestry of Faith" Chalice Children (Covey) curriculum. On Sundays, from 12:00 - 12:20, parents and children will meet on Zoom for a short check-in. Children will be able to share something from the activity that they completed!
Elementary Group (1st/2nd - 5th Grade)
This group will be learning about cultures and faiths around the world! They will be alternating between two curricula when they meet on Sundays from 12:30-1:30.
Middle School Group (6th-8th Grade)
Our middle school youth will meet on Sundays from 2:00-3:00, often with the youth from the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Stamford, CT. They will be participating in the signature Unitarian Universalist curriculum Neighboring Faiths (Reed & Hoertdoerfer) supplemented by "Tapestry of Faith"'s Building Bridges (Isaacs). These curricula work to help youth increase their knowledge of religions practiced around the world and in our local community. Youth are empowered to better appreciate human diversity and connect with others and be able to respectfully discuss important matters with people with whom they disagree. Visits to houses of worship will take place virtually, at least at the start of the year.
Senior High Youth Group
Our senior high youth will be engaging in an "Indigenous Peoples' Solidarity Project" this year. There will be a combination of learning sessions, field trips, social action opportunities, and guest speakers. They will generally meet two Sundays each month from 4:00-5:00.

- Books & Cooks: Cultural Cooking for UU Kids (Craine) This curriculum uses stories about food and cooking to give children a "taste" of different cultures around the world. The stories also expose children to lessons about helping each other, being part of a community, being adventurous, sharing, and the importance of family. Families will be given recipes to make together at home!
- World of New Friends: An Introduction to World Religions (Sautter) Using stories, art, drama, and song, children will be introduced to the many truths and many faiths that enrich our lives and inform our UU faith. They will meet fictional "friends" who will join the class!

The Important Role of Parents and Guardians
Parents and guardians are their children’s primary guides throughout the week, playing a central role in their spiritual development. Encouraging them to attend worship, classes and activities helps nurture their curiosity while building a sense of community with their peers and teachers. Showing interest in what they learn and volunteering in classes demonstrates that you value spiritual exploration. Sharing your beliefs and journey with them reinforces that they will continue to learn and grow throughout their lives. Talking about how you act on your beliefs and values encourages them to do the same, and helps them understand their crucial role in shaping this world.
