Whole Congregation Worship Services
Several of our 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship services throughout the year are for the whole congregation, inviting families to worship together. We invite the participation of children and youth in leading worship, and offer a children's area where young people can enjoy quiet activities while experiencing the words, music and rituals of our faith.
Childcare
We provide childcare each week for young children through three years of age during Sunday worship services (10:30-12:00). Our Nursery is always staffed with two adults.
Elementary Group (Prek-5th/6th Grade)
After a brief time in the Sanctuary during most Sunday Services, children will head off to the Religious Exploration wing to gather for a large group lesson followed by related activity options. The group will be using two curricula this year:
7th-8th Graders
We are proud to once again be offering Our Whole Lives ("OWL")*, the signature UUA/UCC lifespan sexuality education program, to our 7th and 8th graders. “Our Whole Lives” (“OWL”) helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior. With a holistic approach, “Our Whole Lives” provides accurate, developmentally appropriate information about a range of topics, including relationships, gender identity, sexual orientation, sexual health, and cultural influences on sexuality. The majority of OWL sessions will take place on Sunday afternoons, with some Friday-Saturday gatherings. A schedule will be shared with parents/guardians during the orientation session (date TBD shortly).
* Parents/Guardians must attend an orientation session prior to their children participating in this program
Junior and Senior High Youth (6th-12th Grade) "Snacks & Sermon Chat"
Generally, on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, youth are encouraged to attend the 10:00 Service. Immediately following the sermon, the youth will leave the Sanctuary and meet to discuss the sermon and to socialize. Reverend Michael will drop in periodically to join the conversation!
Senior High Youth Group
Join us on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month in the afternoon for group-determined activities!

After a brief time in the Sanctuary during most Sunday Services, children will head off to the Religious Exploration wing to gather for a large group lesson followed by related activity options. The group will be using two curricula this year:
- Signs Of Our Faith: Being UU Every Day (Jessica York) presents fourteen traits or values that most Unitarian Universalists love, including the quest for knowledge, reverence for life, supporting one another on our faith journeys, and public witness. Children examine how their lives do and can exhibit these traits and values, and come to understand that their faith is a living faith whose histories and teachings are fortifications for living faithfully in a complex world.
- Spirit of Adventure (Kate Tweedie Erslev) is a curriculum that teaches UU identity without the usual arts and crafts projects. Activities are themed around Sports, Medicine, Building, Food, Exploring, and Science and include things like dissecting a computer, building cantilevered architecture using graham crackers, interviewing a sports coach, and making pancakes using utensils invented by Fannie Farmer. Children learn about Unitarian Universalists who have made a difference in the world.

The Important Role of Parents and Guardians
Parents and guardians are their children’s primary guides throughout the week, playing a central role in their spiritual development. Encouraging them to attend worship, classes and activities helps nurture their curiosity while building a sense of community with their peers and teachers. Showing interest in what they learn and volunteering in classes demonstrates that you value spiritual exploration. Sharing your beliefs and journey with them reinforces that they will continue to learn and grow throughout their lives. Talking about how you act on your beliefs and values encourages them to do the same, and helps them understand their crucial role in shaping this world.
