Ending the Silence
There are three upcoming opportunities to hear the NAMI presentation, Ending the Silence. This presentation, offered through NAMI Westchester, will help youth learn to recognize signs of distress in themselves and friends, and where to find resources. It will help parents and supportive adults learn tools for approaching youth when they see signs of distress. It's the same presentation offered three time in three locations. All are open to the public:

- Sunday, December 17th, 1:00pm at the First Unitarian Society of Westchester in Hastings-on-Hudson
- Sunday, January 7th, 1:00pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Hudson Valley in Croton-on-Hudson
- Friday, January 26th, 7:00pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northern Westchester in Mt. Kisco

Additional Important Dates:
- September 17th, 2:00-4:00pm. Join us for the first youth gathering of the year to share what you (youth) need from faith community this year, discuss how we can support you in building your spiritual reserves, and explore meaningful activities.
- September 23rd, 1:00-4:00pm. Earth Fest. We will welcome the Mt. Kisco and surrounding communities for an afternoon of nature-based crafts for kids, earth-centered activities for the whole family, and environmental presentations for adults as we preview our work this year toward environmental justice. We need youth help at the activity stations. Contact Ellen Calves to volunteer.
- October 8th, 12:00-1:15pm, meeting to schedule the activities we discussed September 17th, consider ways to build multigenerational relationships at UUFNW, and a plan for discussing evolving faith beliefs as UU youth.
- October 22nd, 2:00-4:00pm, group gathering to discuss how the youth's beliefs are evolving and to schedule additional activities discussed at the first meeting.
- November 4th, 6:00pm, UUFNW Service Auction. Youth can earn community service hours by participating in data entry, clean up and other activities. Contact Kelley Housman to volunteer.
- November 18th, 1:00pm. Lord of the Rings Marathon. All three!
- Thursday, November 30th, 6:30pm. Midnight Run drop off.
- Friday, December 1st, 6:30pm. Midnight Run. Youth can earn community service hours by participating. You can start collecting gently used clothes for adults and other items now:

- December 17, 2:00-4:00pm. Conversation with Rev. Michael about the youth's evolving faith beliefs.
- December 29. Serving dinner to our Emergency Shelter guests.
- January 14th, 2:00-4:00pm, group discussion.
- January 26th, 7:00pm, NAMI Ending the Silence presentation.
- February 4th, 11:30am - 1:00pm, community potluck and conversation about faith formation at UUFNW.
- March 4th, 12:00-2:00pm, youth discussion and planning for Vespers service.
- Friday, March 16th, 6:00pm, Vespers service.
- April 15th, 2:00-4:00pm, Midnight Run planning.
- Thursday, May 10th, 6:30pm, Organizing for Midnight Run.
