UUFNW Stewardship 2025-2026
From Rev. Emily DeTar Birt:Unitarian Universalists hold Love at the center of our values. From our Universalist roots, we believe that the Spirit of Life is a force of loving kindness, inspiring life and creation while driving us away from needless suffering. For those who are humanists, Love is our human moral response to being alive and having to die. To be human means every person deserves love, that each person is called to love others, and that our greatest striving is to create more love in the world.
Right now, with so much callousness and fear, our world needs communities committed to Living Love Out Loud. This makes everything we believe in and everything we do as a community an Act of Resistance. We need you to help us continue to counteract apathy and needless suffering by investing in our community which practices connection, faith, and hope.

Please Pledge Now
In challenging times, being a part of a loving community can be life saving. Our Stewardship Campaign, which creates our greatest source of income and volunteer commitment, keeps this community going. It will allow us to continue our connections – Sunday services, Religious Exploration, Food Pantry support, Emergency Shelter support, music, buildings & grounds attention - as well as take steps to manifest a new vision for programming in our building, now that we have access to all our space. Ask yourself:
The campaign ends April 20th. We pledge now for the next fiscal year, July 1 – June 31, which is when you can begin to fulfill your financial pledge (via automatic bank check, personal check, Zelle, or appreciated stock). Each volunteer commitment provides an opportunity to meet people, develop relationships, and learn new skills. Included is also a giving guide and a list of volunteer commitments to help you find the right place for your time, treasure, and talents.
You can make your pledge here or print the pledge form attached and return to us.
Thank you for being part of our community. You are a gift, loved, and perfect just as you are.

- What qualities do you want our children to bring into the world? (Every pledge helps provide an RE Director and you can also make this happen as part of Religious Exploration)
- What changes in our classrooms will attract new people to RE, and create new innovative uses for the space? (In addition to funds for the changes, you can share your thoughts on the Building Team)
- What would you like to experience during our Sunday services? (Your pledge supports our minister AND you can share your ideas on the Sunday Service Team)
- How can we remain a soft place to land, and welcome new people whose lives can benefit from our life-giving message of Universal Love? (The Membership, or Community, or Communications, or Building/Grounds Teams need your creative thinking and willingness to help.)

Giving Guide
Q. I put whatever I can in the collection plate on Sundays, why should I pledge?
A. Pledging allows us to project revenue for the coming fiscal year. Our budget is directly related to the amount of money we think we’ll have available. While we appreciate every gift that is given in love, our budget must be based on only those gifts that have been promised.
Q. Is my pledge tax deductible?
A. Yes, gifts to our congregation are deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive a year-end statement detailing your payments for the calendar year.
Q. What happens if my life changes and I can’t fulfill my pledge?
A. A pledge is a promise, but it should never be a burden. If you are unable to complete a pledge for any reason, simply contact our Minister, or member of the Stewardship Ministry Team and let them know that you would like to reduce your pledge for the year.
Q. What is a Fiscal Year?
A. A fiscal year is a budgetary 12month period. Our fiscal year starts on July 1st and ends on the following June 30th. You are pledging NOW and will pay AFTER July 1.
Q. I am not ready to become a voting member. Can I still pledge?
A. Of course! We will gratefully accept pledges from all friends of the congregation. We do hope that when you feel ready, you will consider membership in UUFNW.
Q. I give money to other congregational fundraisers throughout the year. Do these gifts count toward my pledge?
A. They do not. Your pledge gift is your commitment toward our general fund. Other fundraisers throughout the year such as the Service Auction supplement your pledge
